Hammer Inventions – Live at Salle Piano in San Francisco Feb. 4th
Official San Francisco celebration for the Hammer Inventions Album featuring a live performance on antique pianos and electronics by Lynda Arnold and Daniel Berkman. The duo perform selections and improvisations from the record in this very special salon style performance.
The album, ‘Hammer Inventions’ by Lynda Arnold and Daniel Berkman features piano compositions and layered electronic orchestrations made entirely of sounds generated from the piano. From delicate and ethereal acoustic piano moments reminiscent of George Winston or Philip Glass to layered textural moments similar to Steve Reich, or Autechre, Lynda and Daniel create new pieces within the limits of piano-generated sounds.
Also, opening the show will be a very special guest of honor all the way from Los Angeles, the piano virtuoso John Berkman.
For those of you who have not been to Salle Pianos you are in for a real treat. Owner, Tibor, will be providing wine, champagne and his very own hungarian goulash with bread and salad for you after this debut live set by the Hammer Inventions duo. Tibor and the Salle Pianos crew sell, buy and restore art case pianos from all over the US Europe and display them in the showroom where they also host all kinds of live music events. This is the perfect venue for Hammer Inventions to flourish in live performance.
The ticket for the evening includes the food, drinks and music. CD’s and special piano hammer keychains will be available for sale at the event. Thank you so much for your support!
